Obama dozed, people froze
Could the Obama admin get any more inept? Under Bush, FEMA had
trailers outside NO within 48 hours after Katrina hit yet 5 DAYS after the ice storm in KY they have done nothing. So far 40-some people have died while Obama is busy trying to stuff his cronies pockets with "Stimulus". |

People are also more self reliant in KY. |

Thats as bad as the Power Company in Michigan, I think it was, that cut off the power of a WW II Veteran over a confusion in a late payment. The man had no trouble paying the bill, they think he forgot ( Alz. ? ) The poor old man froze to death in his bed....... " I hope I die before I get old..." - The Who |

If there is ineptness, it is on the part of the probably privately owned power companies serving Kentucky. Despite their gouging their customers for years, they obviously have not spent enough on training and equipment to meet the needs of their customers in case of weather emergencies. It's just another private sector failure. |

The power companies rely on mutual assistance from other states for this type of aberation. Eisboch |

Or publicly owned power companies, either. In fact, these days, you cannot rely on much of anything. |

Despite their gouging their customers for years, they obviously have not spent enough on training and equipment to meet the needs of their customers in case of weather emergencies. It's just another private sector failure. Two points: One: If FEMA is not in Kentucky, after this long, it is because the Governor of Kentucky has not requested Federal aid in witting. Its a states rights issue. It is possible that unlike other areas of the country that can not blow their noses without federal assistance, Kentucky is prepared to do it themselves. Two: If you were not lost in your virtual world, or would get away from the coastal cities, you would know there are power company crews from all over the country working to restore power in the area. There are national agreements between the power companies to provide assistance in this type of situation. I have been through several hurricanes, tornadoes, and ice storm, each time these outside crews are there working beside with the crews from the local company. If you drive the interstates during these times you would see, convoy after convoy of power trucks going to and from the area of the disaster. I am surprised at the distance they come, some times several hundreds of miles to respond. |

And when will you're you president at least make a fly over? All your stupid candor and how you arrogantly blamed Bush for every one of your possible woes, shall now come back to haunt you. A case of the hunter becoming the hunted, but I'm sure your comprehension level cant understand that.. But do carry on. You're fashion is quit laughable. |

How come 2 million blacks were able to converge on DC in a single day with
below freezing temperatures, yet a few hundred thousand could not manage to leave New Orleans with a 4 day notice with 90 deg temperatures? |
