Turn your VHF on. Plane went down at LaGuardia and they are rescuing
the passengers now.

It's on all major networks too.

Blame it on the Canadians ..... geese.

I have a web based scanner set up in Mystic on a relay - man those
guys worked fast.

Great job to the NYFD, USCG and the NY Waterways ferry captains.

Standing O to the pilots of that bird.

Funny story on NBC - Williams just interviewed one of the passengers
who was on his way to a golf vacation in FL. He just purchased a new
set of clubs - expensive Conways or something and he was more ****ed
about losing his new clubs than spending the afternoon on a wing in
the middle of the Hudson. :)

It's funny. As I sit here watching the news coverage, the thought occurred
to me that the response team, from ferries to police to USCG was just
outstanding. They all responded in an amazingly short period of time.
Plus, I can't even imagine the quick thinking of the pilot. He didn't have
much time to make any decisions.

I wonder how many passengers tried or gave a thought to trying to get
their "stuff" out of the overhead compartments.

The new clubs must have cost him 3 large. I don't think the Warsaw
Convention allows for the recovery of lost golf clubs nor does the guy's
wife. His wife will tell him that it is an omen for him to stop playing
golf.

Calloways are expensive clubs. They were probably fitted also. Hopefully,
the divers will retrieve them.

LOL!!

Finally - it's really Canada's fault this time. :)

We're going to be looking for reparations for the families of the killed
geese who fell victim to this plane.

They got all 151 souls off the plane - no loss of life.

Yes, an amazing job by the pilot to crash land in the water without
the plane breaking up. Not just good, good and lucky.

As it happened, I ran into a neighbor tonight at a local bistro who
used to fly with Continental. He said that it normally takes 30
minutes to prepare for a ditch. He said these pilots only had 30
seconds to make the decision and pull it off.

Hell of a job I'd say.

If we could get illegal immigrants to make Canada goose a diet staple,
everything might actually work out okay.
