"Manning HS band raising money to play at Obama's inauguration"

Posted: Dec 10, 2008 08:06 PM EST

MANNING, SC (WIS) - Clarendon County is trying to help a group of high school students go to next month's presidential inauguration.
The Manning High School band has been chosen as South Carolina's only representative at President-elect Barack Obama's inaugural parade in Washington, DC.

During Wednesday night's school board meeting, the board approved the trip, which will cost around $40,000 in all.

Now the band has to raise the money to go.

The young musicians are asking for donations to help pay for transportation, food and hotel accommodations.

So far, a school board member says they've raised about $8,000 in cash and around $10,000 in pledges, and they are working on brainstorming other fundraising ideas.

Count on WIS News 10 to continue following the Manning band's story.

So BO doesn't have enough money to send his wife's band from SC to his
inauguration? From the Millions he has left over from the election?
WTF?!?

Now it's left to a poor section of SC to try to fund this?

No change, same - old, same - old.
