Pot Metal is not zinc. Pot Metal is slang for "ALLOY". It merely means
it is a metal made of a combination of other metals that were mixed in
a "pot", so to speak... As an example, Stainless Steel is pot metal.

and deposits it on the circuit boards, as it flakes off the pot metal...
