Hi, guys;

Instead of using the display unit from the Navman depth 2100, i try to
design my own display unit for the transducer of depth 2100.
Anyone have any idea how to interface with this depth transducer by
using the PIC microcontroller? I found that the cable Navman used for
this device is RCA Jack cable. I have no idea about this cable. How can
i interface with this cable to receive the signal from the transducer?
Besides, did anyone know the specification of this transducer?
Thank you so much, guys!!!

A depth transducer is usually a Piezo-electric device that just transmits
the pulse and then receives the returned signal.
They don't contain any electronics, so you will need to design and build the
depth sounder, i.e. something to produce the pulse, and then calculate the
depth by the time delay between transmitted pulse and received signal, and
display the result
Considering the sophisticated equipment availlable why build your own?
Why not use the time to go boating instead?
