Hi, guys; Instead of using the display unit from the Navman depth 2100, i try to design my own display unit for the transducer of depth 2100. Anyone have any idea how to interface with this depth transducer by using the PIC microcontroller? I found that the cable Navman used for this device is RCA Jack cable. I have no idea about this cable. How can i interface with this cable to receive the signal from the transducer? snip A RCA jack on the video output would probably indicate it is composite video like. If you have a TV and a composite video modulator you can try it to see if it works. The video modulator converts the composite video signal to RF energy on a specific (and sometimes selectable) TV channel. The modulator is a small box with a RCA jack on one end and short flat antenna cable with terminal lugs or coaxial connector on the other end. There are some issues with frequencies and scan rates and the like but if the video happens to have much in common with the NTSC composite video used by most TV set it may work. I think you can still find video modulators at places like Wal-Mart, that is the little box that was used to hook real old computers (think Apple, Atari, Amiga, etc.) to TV sets in the dark ages.
