Default Transducer

I was wondering if I would be able to use the transducer for the depth gauge
as the transducer for a fish finder? and is it possable to run it to both?

Not at the same time. To be able to switch between the depth and fish
finder both units would have to be the same frequency and the higher powered
unit power rating would have to be at or lower than the transducer power
rating level. If you left both units powered on and switched the transducer
you might damage the unit you left on without a transducer load. All in
all, not a great idea.

If you had two transducers, you still might have a problem with interference
between the units if they are the same frequency.

Why not use the fish finder as a depth finding device, and forget the depth
gauge?

Depends on the frequency of the transducers. If they are both 200mhz or
50mhz, no as you wil get interference and bad readings. You can however run
them both if one was a 200mhz and the other a 50mhz.
