I have a 13.5 Boston Whaler with 40hp Yamaha that I used mostly in the
sal****er streams and marshes on the coast of South Carolina. I know absolutely nothing about them. This is my first inquiry. What model, mount etc would you recommend. Fred in South Carolina------I am a senior citizen and with age goes eye sight so I want one that is easy to read. I really want one that is good in shallow water since we have a lot of oyster beds. My present depth finder is very accurate--my boat paddle. Thanks for any help you can provide. |

Hi Fred, you don't mention how shallow. Most depth finders LCG type(Liquid Crystal Graph) will work in water two or 3 feet deep but, not in Automatic mode. Vexilar makes a real nice flasher unit that shows fish .. I have both a Lowrance LCG and a flasher. the flasher is color so you do not have read numbers. I would look for one that is waterproof too.
