![]() "Jon Klapper" wrote in message ... Hello, Can anyone direct me to a source for Danforth parts? I am in need of a 5" lexan compass dome. You don't say what model it is so we might get an idea if it is worth repairing.. Most often a good expensive compass it repaired by the mfg. That can cost about $100 if you need the dome replaced. They would, of course clean it internally and replace the fluid.. That may seem like a lot, but most all marine service a costing $100/hr now for competent service. I know Danforth makes some good compasses but I'm not aware of their service reputation. I might recommend that you contact them and ask about a 'return for service' rather than for parts. If I were a manufacture of a precision piece of equipment, I wouldn't want to sell parts for a layman to do the repairs. If Danforth is anything like Richie and the compass isn't to old, they may service it out of warrantee for little or nothing, for the sake of PR. Steve s/v Good Intentions |
