This morning on Norwegian TV they have shown the most stupid action by a
yacht skipper I have ever seen. The world's largest cruise line has been in Oslo and was under way in the channel going back out, with the city still in sight behind. A large sailing yacht, about 40' I would guess, under power with no sails set, motored right across its bows at a distance that looked about 100/200 yards at most. There were four people on deck who seemed quite unconcerned. They would have been quite invisible from the bridge of the ship. The Harbour Master has been on TV talking about the incident and I do not know what further action will result. Perhaps they thought that they had right of way since the ship was coming from their port side! I really hope someone gets it onto You Tube. |
