Does anyone have any recommendations for a New England cellular
carrier with good coastal data service coverage? I'd like to be able
to use a mobile phone to browse weather data while cruising. I
recently activated T-Mobile's data service on my Razr phone and have
been very disappointed with the data coverage on land, so I doubt they
have very good coverage over water. My research has me leaning toward
Verizon, but I'm interested in hearing from anyone with experience.

This is somewhat related to my earlier "Soliciting class project
ideas" thread. I'm leaning toward a project for coastal cruisers,
optimized for low-bandwidth small-screen browsing and don't think
T-Mobile is going to be a very good test bed.

We've had good luck with both Verizon and Sprint, with Verizon being
somewhat the better of the two.

I was able to send / receive using Verizon if in sight of land.
