Default depth sounder problems

I have a B&G network depth sounder that has failed me.
Doing a normal search on WM, defender, etc and google search and
I have yet to find anybody in the US that carries the dam thing. I was
just going to order a new one and then send off the unit to get
repair.

So,
A. anybody know a online dealers of B&G in usa
B. whats my chances of finding another more popular unit (say
raymarine) that will drop in replacement, ie know new holes for
transducer/display?
thx, Tom

of production...

There are a few breakers around, but you may be in for a new system.
Nothing lasts forever.

Years ago we bought a used Honda Civic. After a few years we needed some
parts only to be told by the Honda dealer that it only stocks parts for
Civics less than 5 years old.

I had all B&G stuff on my boat. Never again.

Default depth sounder problems

I recently ordered a part for my B&G wind speed indicator. $140 for a
$10 part. The outfit was down in Florida and was listed online as a
B&G repair facility. I hate it when they can squeeze gonads like
that.

B&G were all the rage when I started sailing in the early sixties. It was at
that time the best electronic equipment by far, on boats of all kinds.

Surely you can't be still using their gear in the US?

Dennis.

It is standard equipment on Pacific Seacrafts as late as
2005...probably
because they bought it in bulk. I'm going to try to find a drop in
replacement
otherwise this is going to get expensive: haulout, fiberglass work to
change
hole for transducer, etc....#$%#$
