You didn't go to the right place. Back in the 1980s, I spent a few
summers in a lovely resort at the western end of Cuba. Marvelous
sailing there! The social schedule was a bit hectic though. I hear
that the new management has changed everything and gotten an entirely
different clientele ;)

fair enough, but don't blame the Chinese...after all, they're playing by
rules many in your country like...i.e., no unions, low wages, no benefits,
no health care, as few holidays as possible, no pensions etc... BTW I feel
you about MallWart, but how do you feel about the big 3? Still buying
"domestic"? I was being harassed on the highway the other day by some
jackass in a big Dodge pickup who had one of those moronic bumper stickers
that said "Out of a job yet? Keep buying foreign" Apparently he had a
pickle up his ass about my 18 year old Honda Accord...that was built in
Tennessee...by Americans...

It was assembled in Tennessee, not built. The parts came from Japan
and the profits went back to Japan!

Clearly a new chapter in American history began in the year 2000.

Nope, way before that:

Bush did not make any new laws, he only changed policy.

That merely explains the concept of foreiture, and has links to a few
examples where it is used..

Bzzzt.

Wrong.

I stand corrected. Thanks for the link. Bush has got to be one of the worst
presidents ever. Along with destroying the republican party he has taken
america along with it. The repurcussions of his presidency will go on for a
decade or more. The next president will inherit a total mess. Thanks for
pointing out the loss of our freedoms, hopefully we can elect those whose
primary goal is to restore them.

Bush is in a place by himself. Not even Franklin Pierce was as bad as the
present moron in chief.

He has ruined the economy, taken away our freedom, given out all the federal
money to homeland
security which then gives it out to every yawhoo police department in the US
which then goes out
and buys military outfits and gun and then goes out and has its way with our
freedom .. etc.

Take a look at small town America. Take a look at the folks working for
small town America
Take a look at who is earning the highest salary .. COPS. Nothing against
cops but they should
not be earning more than the average guy on the street. When cops start
becoming the highest paid
employees in the US we are in big trouble.

LOL.

And they built the factories with concrete and bricks imported from
Japan, imported genuine Japanese managers, assembly line workers and
maintenance people, fed them all with nothing but imported Japanese sushi
and rice flown in on Japanese Airlines, and paid them in yen deposited
only in Japanese banks, right?

Check the parts content of a Chevy, Ford or Chrysler.

Thanks for quoting "Dave" gentlemen...reminds me again why he's in my
idiot bin. Funny how in little minds like his, it's okay for GM, Ford and
Daimler-Chrysler to trample each other in their haste to employ Mexicans,
while shipping the profits back to the US or Germany, but the Japanese
don't get to play the same capitalist game. Dimwit.

But as to Cuba, yes Fidel has had his time. The majority of the Cuban
people revere him and who's to argue with the will of the people and what
his revolution has done for the quality of their lives? And who
will not be aware of the pain and suffering caused by the inhuman enmbargo
imposed by a succession of hide-bound ideologues in White House.
America's shameful behaviour in this regard may see American business
excluded from Cuba's next economic revolution. In 2008, with the
economic power of Europe, the MidEast and China, who needs $US$ any
longer? Cuba will evolve it's institutions in time to look like the
social democracies that populate the UN's list of top countries in which
to live.

1. Wrong.
2. Wrong President too.

Despite what you Bush-haters may believe, U.S. history did not begin in
the
year 2000.

Never heard of enemy combatant have you Dave... Let's hope US history
doesn't end in 2008.

There comes another piece of sky.

I'm certainly better off now than I was 8 years ago. And indeed by
objective
measurements most people probably also are.

But of course you didn't ask whether people are better off. You asked
whether they think they're better off.

Oh, damn. There comes another piece of sky!

Now that's funny! Most people.... what a riot!

I would love to sail to Havana. And I'm sure I'm not alone.

From what I've read, there have been boaters going to Cuba for years,

Soon it will be legal!

Viva la Cuba .. !!!

What a trip... down the coast, stop at some keys,, a little Key West

Set the sails... we are heading to Havana!

They have Marinas. It is only illegal for US citizens to go there.

Actually, I think it's only illegal to spend money there, assuming you
can
get a permit to go there of course.

Then why can the DHS legally seize your boat in waters off of Long
Island if they simply claim you intended to sail to Cuba?

Can you restate this. It makes no sense as a reply to what I wrote.

Yes. I agree with you.
