Default Does propane hose deteoriate?

Ozone is probably the principal destroyer of most rubbers .... then UV,
oxygen, etc. As long as we have thunderstorms, internal combustion
engines, electric sparks, etc. .....
If you really want to destroy your rubber hosing, install an ozone
generator on your boat.
If the hose appears hard or the surface has started to 'crumble' or
develope ANY surface cracks ... replace it immediately.

A friend says that standard black rubber propane hose gets old and
goes bad - needs to be replaced. Any truth in this ?
