Marky boy specifically said Clarion car and marine stereos and
speakers were identical in construction. This comes as quite a
surprise to the manufacturer!

Yup, Clarion marine speakers are also sealed on the rear, while the auto
versions are not and coils are not waterproof.
Didn't need to look it up. I've seen them.
