Default correcting scratched glass?

Ahoy, I have a portlight that someone scratched up, perhaps by using a
wire wheel to clean the bronze surround. Is there some kind of
compound that would buff it out?
Thanks.

You may have another problem, the scratches may have weakened the
glass such that any impact on the glass might cause it to shatter.

I'd replace the glass.
