If you're still using seacocks then you need to upgrade to something that works and is maintenance free. 1) haul your boat 2) remove the seacocks and toss them into the scrap bronze bucket 3) remove the through hulls and toss them into the scrap bucket as well 4) install quality bronze (made in USA) through hulls (threaded to the end) 5) install 90 degree street ells. (made in USA) 7) install quality stainless steel ball valves. (made in USA) 8) use plenty of Teflon tape on the threads. That's how people who own Bristol yachts do it, at any rate.
