Take a look at Massachusetts .. The Democrats have been running the state forever. And, because of that, we have a local tax burden lower than the national average. We have one of the best school systems in the country, with the highest ratings on all four of the the standardized tests (reading and math, 4th and 8th grades) of any of the states. Crime rates are well below the national average, with one of the lowest murder rates in the country. Also, our suicide rate is almost the lowest in the country. The major health care systems are rated amongst the best in the country. It sure looks like the Dems made a mess of things. I suppose its best if you stayed well clear. |

All it says is that the most wealthy don't spend as much of their incomes on certain taxable items, especially sales tax or excise tax items. And, the report is a "standard form" that the web site offers for just about every state. In fact, MA is actually quite fair, with an equal burden shared by 95% of the state. And, the local tax on the poor is 20% lower than the national average, one of the lowest in the country. Compare this to your state. Florida is listed as the second most regressive, with the local tax on the poor over 50% higher than Massachusetts! Its pretty clear you have neither the inclination nor ability to actually determine the truth about even simple issues. |

Jeff ,,, really man ... you are making a complete fool of yourself.
The poor in Mass can't afford a home. Why? Because the state won't let any homes get built. You throw in the income tax, sales tax, excise tax, real estate tax, the "Big Dig" corruption,,,, You are out of your F'n mind. Mass sucks! It is corrupt. Why do you think Fidelity is leaving? The employees I have spoken to can't get out of Mass quick enough. You should consider therapy. What a joke,,, I'm sure Ted Kennedy is drinking to your stupidity. ======================================== "Jeff" wrote in message . .. * Wilbur Hubbard wrote, On 3/12/2007 4:02 PM: "Jeff" wrote in message . .. * Wilbur Hubbard wrote, On 3/12/2007 3:10 PM: "Jeff" wrote in message . .. * NE Sailboat wrote, On 3/12/2007 11:02 AM: Take a look at Massachusetts .. If he's drinking to Jeff's stupidity there's plenty enough to keep even Old Kennedy plastered. Jeff is your typical brainwashed liberal. He feels good when he pays taxes. Liberals have been taught they've got to pay taxes until it hurts so the likes of Kennedy and Kerry can live the good life. Wilbur Hubbard |

So, are you claiming everyone is living in tents? Why do you think housing is so expensive here? Maybe its because people want to live here. You throw in the income tax, sales tax, excise tax, real estate tax, the As I've already shown, these taxes are lower than the national average. "Big Dig" corruption,,,, Yes, well, it kept half the state employed for ten years. And now we have a great system. You are out of your F'n mind. You're the one with the serious reality problem. Mass sucks! It is corrupt. Why do you think Fidelity is leaving? The employees I have spoken to can't get out of Mass quick enough. And yet, our departed Republican Gov is claiming he "turned the state around." Are you claiming he made it worse? You should consider therapy. Why? Because my world is reality based? I'm a joke,,, we never could have guessed. |

Sales taxes are in line with most other states and there is no sales tax on groceries. Wilbur Hubbard But boy do they stick it to you with property taxes in insurance! So, is there anybody forcing a body to own property and to insure it? No! Well, I thought so. As long as owning property is a choice then you choose to pay property taxes and you choose to insure it. If you borrow to buy then you're also forced to insure the property. It's as simple as that. Now, if people were forced to own property then had to pay property taxes and insurance, that would be a different story altogether. It seems to me if there's any such thing as a fair tax then property tax sure fits the bill. It seems correct to me the more property and the more expensive property you own you should be taxed on it on a percentage basis. Same percentage whether your property is worth fifty grand or fifty million grand. But there is help for the lower income folks. There is a 25K homestead exemption soon to go up to 50K on which the property owner pays not one thin dime. This helps out the low income people and sticks it to the rich. Boy are the rich ****s ever complaining and lobbying AGAINST the doubling of the homestead exemption. Seems like they don't mind sticking it to the poor but when they have to pay for their mansions they balk. Wilbur Hubbard |
