![]() 1) Is the new friction ring the same material as the old one? Are you sure? No. the brake material is much courser than the original but it was all they had available in that thickness. 2) Is the metal surface against which the friction ring rides smooth? Really smooth, even after your incident? The drum surface is chome plated and is very smooth with not even a scratch. I'm considering taking it back to the clutch brake shop and ask them to sand it smooth. I'm sure they must have some form of surface sander for that type of business. Thank.
