Nor do their paid skippers have them, since they're not taking passengers for hire -- just driving the boat for the family, which is different. YMMV when it comes to insurance companies though. I know someone with a 54' sailboat who must have six qualified sailors aboard to go offshore. Their sailing resumes must be on file with the insurer. Matt O. |
