Back in the mid 90's, my brother bought a new Jeep Grand Cherokee and used

oil in it at first.
He claimed that the engine wouldn't heat up enough with syn oil to give
him
much heat from the heater.
He switched to dino oil and everything was just fine.

Was he tugging my chain, or has anyone ever heard of this phenomenon?
