Default Multiplait splicing

My fellow newsgroup-members,

I'm in the process of making a series drogue.I am using multiplait line
here, for obvious reasons.

Lets try this again. I believe most published advice recomends nylon
double braid with no mention of multiplait for series drogue
construction. I assume we are not talking about the same cordage
construction, that is unless where you live the words "double braid"
and "multiplait" are used interchangably? I use the two words to mean
two very diffrent cordage construction types as do Sampson and England.

I tried googling for some splicing-descriptons but can't find any that
are any good.

When you say "good" do you mean easy to understand or the splice does
not reduce SWL significantly: 90%?

Since I'm asking... I'm looking for an end-splice, eye-splice and
anchorchain-splice.

Anchorchain splice............................. cordage manufactures,
Drogue Data Base, SeaAnchors and Drouge (Hinze) do not recomend an
eysplice directly to chain. Yas gotta uz a thimbol and shakel. Ya just
cant bend it to a link un hopes it to hold when yas needs it most. And
it aint the uns uzd for wirerope. gots ta uze the uns fur line not
rope.

And for thoes more inclined to cricize my use of "foolish", here are
lots of typos and conventin errors to find fault too. Hvae fun boys.

Oh, so what brings yall over here? Nobody paying enough attention to
your comments at alt.sailing asa?

In all honesty Len. by your questions and word use I advise strongly
that you read the two texts I listed above. Both are very helpful for
series drouge design and use.

I also ass-u-me that you used the load formula to calculate the
strength of the attachment points for the drogue and harnes legs?

Just a couple thoughts to
consider.......................................... .....

Bob

Who helps? I like 'm with a lot of pictures... ;-)

Fair winds, Len.
