Never been there, and looking for a place to live aboard and work over the winter, Any other suggestions - Looking for a place where there are no anchoring restrictions/limits, the downtown area is easy to access by dinghy/bike. ================ I live across the river in Cape Coral and know the area fairly well. There are significant numbers of liveaboards in the Ft Myers area, mostly in marinas, but a few that are anchored out, mostly on the North Ft Myers side of the river. I would describe downtown Ft Myers as "interesting", some parts nice, some less so. There is a lot of restoration and gentrification going on in the old downtown area, as well as a lot of modern redevelopment with high rise condos, hotels, etc. There are lots of nearby restaurants, supplys and services available, along with a few good waterfront pubs. All are within easy walking distance. If your boat draws 5 feet or less there are lots of options. So Ft. Myers has no time limits on anchoring out like more and more places? |
