I just came in from trying to clean 7 that had badly mildewed (being in
storage for 10 years) -- Clorox worked best. I also tried Ajax, whitewall tire cleaner, and oxy clean. I wiped them all down with Clorox first, then tried the other things. I'd say Clorox got me 90% as far as I got -- none of the others did much more. There are still stains and black marks on them, but not as noticeable. Not worth the effort. The color is uniform, so someone looking for the old home port really does have to look at the raised area as a raised area. And the former home port is no deep dark secret. |
