![]() wrote in message ups.com... Have you actually tried a Spade anchor yourself? I'm swinging a 60,000 lb trawler on one right now as we speak, in 20 kt winds and marginal bottom conditions. Had one on my old boat and liked it so well that I bought another one for the GB49. No one anchor is perfect for all conditions but the Spade is the best overall that I've ever used, and I've tried just about all of them at one time or another. Just a satisfied (repeat) customer. I have one and have found it no better than my Bruce or CQR. Works poorly in grass over sand which is what I bought it for (Bahamas). Neither the manufacturer nor distributor have offered any advice, help or made any attempt to resolve the problem. Doug s/v Callista |
