Be VERY sure your storage rent is paid up for longer than you expect to be
gone. There have been some real horror stories over on reecy RV about coming
back and finding family heirlooms auctioned off.

An addendum to that is use a small local ministorage rather than one
of the big chains. The chains have inflexible rules about auctions
where a small local dealer, if he knows your situation will work with
you. We have learned here that we make more money in the long run by
working with past due customers rather than auctioning and use the
auctions as an absolute last resort
