I have a couple of questions about changing the bulb in an Aqua-Fit
series 40 tricolor/anchor light. First of all, how do you get to the bulbs to remove them? There's a metal plate on the top. removing it doesn't seem to do anything. The top is as firmly attached without it as it is with it. There's an "on-off" ring around the bottom but that appears to be for the "quicfit" attachment. I'm very impressed with how well the light is made, but there must be a way (other than a hammer) to get at the bulbs. The second question is are LED replacements available for the 10W bulbs these use? (Assuming I can get the old bulbs out of course.) Thanks Cindy -- The email address above is a spam trap. Hi Cindy, Here's a link to a spec sheet on the series 40: http://www.aquasignal.de/pdf/lob2004/S018_019.pdf The second page shows the light disassembled, maybe this will help. -- =-------------------------------------------------= Renewontime A FREE email reminder service for licensed mariners http://www.renewontime.com =-------------------------------------------------= |

Twist the ring to the unlock position and pull up on the lens assembly.

Careful though, since I know from experience that these lights don't bounce well. -- Good luck and good sailing. s/v Kerry Deare of Barnegat http://kerrydeare.home.comcast.net/ |

These were both really helpful! Thanks guys, we got it open (without breaking anything). Cindy -- The email address above is a spam trap. Don't expect a response.
