Several years ago, a freak wave of some kind DID hit east Florida
although nobody was hurt. I vaguely remember that several cars on the
Daytona beach were washed over by it. I sorta remember it being about
10' high when it hit the beach going all the way up and over the first
dune line. Supposedly it was from a small collapse off the continental
shelf.
