No, that's not actually what I built but very similiar. Myself and a
friend has designed it. I have built boats using several differant methods before and think the one that Ian documents, with foam over a backbone, is a great method for hulls with the type of curvature that tri's have. He couldn't be a more helpful designer, If I didn't want to go out and design it myself I would not have considered anything but one of his designs. As for build time, I had help from friends and didn't keep track. If you stick to Ian's plans and methods as close as possible that would actually make a faster build, he really knows what he is doing. So getting an estimate from him or others that have built to his plans are the best. Take care, Gilbert |
