Great advice! I'll check it all out.
THANKS! Tim Assuming 100 hours per season ... it's my understanding that the outdrive should be removed at 2 year intervals to grease the u-joints etc etc. So while it's off, it makes sense to "break" the outdrive and replace the impeller (which means you gotta also replace the gear lube). Having said that, my understanding is that the newer impellers are better made than the older ones, and should go for 4 years plus no problems. So my fall schedule is ... - each fall replace the gear lube - each second fall remove the outdrive togrease u-joints etc etc - each fourth fall, while the outdrive is off, split the outdrive and replace the impeller And about the outdrive removal and impeller replacement ... I have the mechanic guy do that :-) |
