I have a boat that has been run in clean lake water for most of it's life.

I'm not really savy on lower end maintainence (yet) and the owner said he put a
new water pump in the lower end this past spring.

how can you tell when it's time to replace the pump? should this be done on a
yearly basis? I'm planning to use this boat not a whole lot through next year,
but will give it a good running over holidays and three-day weekends.

I suppose what I'm asking is this: is there any specific time/hours for pum
maintainence.
