Default 225hp waterpump question??

Hi
On a 225hp Ficht 1999 OMC Evinrude do you need to put the engine into
forward and take off the starboard side cowl, disconnect the linkage before
you can drop the lower end?

Or can you do it without taking off the starboard side cowling or shifter?

Default 225hp waterpump question??

You have to take the port side cowling off to get to the gear shift rod and
lower that rod as well as the drive shaft. Little different from the 9.9
where you disconnect the linkage below. Which was diffferent on my four
stroke completely.

It helps having it in forward,
