If LightSquared succeeds in this spectrum land-grab, it would be a disaster for GPS users, in particular the aviation industry and the military. There's some BIG money behind them - some big swinging dick investors - and they're trying to get their stake in the ground early enough so that they can hope to succeed against any resistance.
