Yikes!! :-) Hey, that might be an easy way to get a new boat. What are you doing next Saturday? lol If I died, I would have smile on my face, at least. LOL! You could learn to sail the boat well enough to arrive at a destination in just a couple of days. The basics aren't hard to grasp. It's just the finer points that take a lot of years of experience. I'm direction challenged! I use my TomTom to get from the office to apartment. ![]() You aren't getting rid of me THAT easily! Most women do get lost easily. LOL! Hey, they have GPSs for the ocean-going, too. If you can navigate using a TomTom then you can navigate using a Lowrance. Instead of a map you see a chart. Even a California girl ;-) could figure it out. Lowance is an electronic chart display? Cool. I guess if you can see land you can match things up. It's too bad about the large age difference as I can tell we are kindred spirits and I find you extremely attractive just from reading your thoughts. Seeing your little photos is like icing on the cake. It makes physical/mental package even more impressive and desirable. You will sure make some conservative guy who's closer to your own age one fine mate. That's funny... I feel that way also.. seems like we have the same basic values, but of course, we've only been chatting a short time. Do you use myspace by any chance? Negative. I don't do any of the 'social network' things. Usenet is more my style where it's slower-paced and one can say something that might have some socially redeming aspects. A bunch of idle chatter is not very manly, IMO. Sigh.. ok. I use myspace to keep track of people, exchange fun stuff, keep pictures of me, my friends, things I see and do. I don't really use it to chat though. You should check it out if you're even in a mind to. Funny thing about MySpace. I had one too, but I just clicked on the link to it and it said it was no longer available so it redirected me and made an offer to migrate it to WordPress so I had to migrate it. I finally got it done and I posted the link in a Ping post to you. What is the link to yours (MySpace) and does it still work for you? Sure, I'd like to see it. I'd love to share it with you, but I'm kind of hesitant about sharing with the whole world... Maybe email me and I'll send you the link? Wilbur Hubbard |

... snip Lowance is an electronic chart display? Cool. I guess if you can see land you can match things up. Yes, just punch in your destination and follow the course line to it. But, you have to watch the depths which are also listed on the electronic chart to make sure you don't run aground trying to follow a straight line to your destination. If the depths are dubious just zig and zag the course line and steer to waypoints to avoid such hazards. If it weren't for modern conveniences such as these then the likes of a Bruce in Bangkok, for example, probably would have never gotten out of the home port harbor. LOL! I'd love to share it with you, but I'm kind of hesitant about sharing with the whole world... Maybe email me and I'll send you the link? I don't blame you. I just sent you an e-mail. Wilbur Hubbard |

Cool... maybe when you get a chance you can post some picture somewhere? Those photos on the blog now are several years old now. I just took some new pics yesterday. I'll post them to a new entry in my wordpress blog soon. I didn't get the red striping tape, though, instead I used gold leaf tape which I had in stock which shines real nice. Yesterday I did some sanding on the white parts of the boat and today I sponged it down with bleach to kill any mold that might want to grow under the new paint. I put a thin undercoat on the port side just a little while ago. Sanding and re-painting the white is a longer job. After I get it all sanded and primed then I'll tape it off and lay on a couple thicker coats so it should gleam like new. Check here sometime in the next couple of days for updated photos. http://captainneal.wordpress.com/ sni0p I don't really know why it's called a cove stripe, though. Maybe Bruce, who fancies himself an expert would know. LOL! That would be a good trivia question/answer! I'd miss it for sure! ;-( It's a labor of love . . . And, I don't feel comfortable with junky-looking stuff. Definitely. I understand. You can see it on job sites when the builder or whatever gives a crap and when he doesn't. I would LOVE to see some pictures... hopefully you'll include one or three of yourself? (I hope you're not too shy... I'm not being pushy, just curious.) Your wish is my command though the pictures are a couple of years old by now. I'll take some new pics of the outside of the boat with the new paint when I get it completed, but it will look pretty much the same as the older photos except the blue will be darker blue. But, I only had one of me to post. Hope it doesn't gross you out! Heh... snip Oh, here's the link again if you missed it somehow. http://captainneal.wordpress.com/ Yeah, weird... didn't see it before I think. Hey, you're not so bad... :-) Thanks, I think I put Bruce and Skippy to shame, for sure. LOL! I think it looks really homey inside. If I had to criticize something, I'd say get some different rugs. They look a little darker than the cushions and sort of draw your eye to them vs. the cushions. Speaking of those... do you stick to them when it gets warm? Perhaps they should be in covers. Then you could wash them if needed. The rugs have faded considerably. I've washed them and bleached them so many times that they are about the same color as the cushions. Besides, I only use them in the winter to keep my feet a little warmer. In the summer I roll them up and stow them away. When sailing, I don't use them at all as the footing is better using the non-skid surface that is molded into the GRP sole. As for sticking to the cushions when it's hot I do stick to them but I sit on a towell most of the time to keep from sticking. Actually, it's more like sliding around than sticking. LOL! At any rate, they are much easier to keep clean than cloth cushions. Just a wipe down with a sponge and a little detergent and bleach and water is all it takes. I can sit on them hot and sweaty and with suntan oil and I don't have to worry about them at all. Ok.. and a dumb question (I'm sure). What's the little things in the same picture that shows the two rubs on the left side near the stair step? Is that just a 110v outlet with stuff in it? You guessed it. That was a nite light made out of a carved seashell with some sort of wading bird - maybe an ibis. It broke some time ago and no longer exists. Wilbur Hubbard |

Exactly, that's why I so happily retired. . . And, don't dare think about this sad reality but you are now working about half a year JUST TO PAY TAXES. Isn't it such a shame that government is able to reach into your purse and steal half a years earnings from you and then spend it on a bunch of welfare crap, war crap, waste and fraud crap and so forth. snip snip That's true... you'd have to wash covers. I wish more people had your healthy attitude. Instead, most people, when they're stressed out, end up eating or drinking. That's the worst thing they can do. I can be stressed out about something and then go for a long, hard, bike ride and it gives me a chance to think things through and, combined with the physical exertion and endorphins in the brain, it puts everything in the proper perspective.
