That must hav been fun

Many of the new X-bow boats are sitting idle in Galveston. I'm sure
they can not afford to sit still for long, and will be heading to more
friendly oilfields soon.

Considering they were built in Poland, Norway, Korea , and crewed by
Norwegians, Singapore ( what ever the plural is), and Philipinos they
will probably go where ever the slave labor and subsidized oil fields
are cheepest.

What ever happened to Jones Act crews and AMerican bottoms?
Oh, ya... the REpublicans say its good for america ot have philipinos
opperating vessesl in our waters. Some how it creates jobs . Just ask

D'oh. Norwegian crews do not work for slave labor wages. Their wages are
good, and their working conditions and fringes benefits far exceed those
of U.S. companies. I have a friend who was a Norwegian supply ship and
oil rig worker. He sustained a serious injury on the job and when it
became obvious he wasn't going to be able to do that work in the future,
the Norwegian government paid for his re-education into another field
(he got a university degree), plus, of course, his medical care and
rehabilitation *and* a stipend to support his family.

Americans injured on the job get a pittance from workers' comp and are
put out on the trash pile.

Singaporeans is the plural, by the way.

Interesting, the comment about Singaporean crewing boats in American
waters. In Singapore nearly all work boats are crewed by Indonesians
:-0

To "Bob," Singaporeans and Indonesians are probably the same.
