Default I'm getting back in to sailing for stress relief

Just for entertainment .

I figured the best way to get what I needed for my Chysler C-22 was to
find a boat of the same size, I needed sails and boom mostly.

So the search take me to ebay and the fist boat had everything but I
lost due to loseing phone signal (rain) 2nd was also not a Chrysler
but another 22" that could have been sailed home. lost due to good
planning on winners part.. hope hes enjoying. The 3rd just happen to
be a starwind 22 really same boat with minor differances. Well it was
listed with boom and sail so I'm on it. Down to the last seconds and
someone else thinks they want it ...sorry I learned from the 2nd guy
and so now I own a boat 600 miles away, that can't be sailed. So the
scramble to build a trailer. Didn't think I could get away with moving
the way I did my C-22.

A friend had an old boat trailer and said I could have it, he was
going to make a motorcycle trailer with it but gave it up. so I start
out with new springs ,new bearings, new wheels, all new hardware
(something like 60 to 70 new bolts)

so plans are to hook up after work friday about 8pm and head to NY.
well the one thing that I didn't replace on trailer was wiring....well
that was untill just after it got dark.

so the trip to NY went well if you don't count the tolls $2 dollars
for cars 2 axles 3 axles and it was$6 other tolls it was $11 cars 2
axles but add the 3rd for the trailer and $27.50

Well get to boat at 8am and all I have to do is remove the swing
keel....
well things didn't go well and when I found a stack of papers just
about removing the keel pin I thought this can't be good because its
still on.

well to make a short story long I had to hack away the bottom to cut
the keel free. 4 hours later and the boat is on the trailer whoo whoo.
I can't thank Walt and his wife that stopped and was a great help. He
had just bought a O'day 23 .

All is find for the first 50 miles then thud and there goes the trail
wheel. passing us doing 80mph I'd guess. Get pulled over real quick ,
and run a little over 1/4 mile to retrieve wheel. All with in 20 min
all seems fine.

well

Get going again but now the stress level is not good with over 500
miles to go.

Well to say the least we got back sunday morning about 2 am , no sleep
and and the stop for the only food we ate the whole trip seem to leave
us both very ill.

So I did get a chance to go thru it in NY after bailing out 2'ft of
water and was very happy to find about everything needed including the
kitchen sink.

It was more then worth it, I'm now ready to put the C-22 in the
water.

I've always believed half the fun is getting there.
