"Wilbur" raises his sails twice a week
I received a number of emails from people concerning "Wilbur". I'll
get around to answering them individually as time permits. If you have any "Wilbur" tales that you can email to me please do. I get a kick out of them, they confirm what I and others have experienced first hand. I will also pass the good ones around to the locals, maybe we can start some kind of organized action against him. I'm out several times a week to take my sister in law up to Ft Lauderdale for some medical treatments and then my wife and I have to spend time helping her out. She's a tough bird and we're all hoping she beats the big "C". I do worry about vandalism now so I got the neighbor watching and the police passing by regularly. Yes, "Wilbur" does raise the sails twice a week, his sails being old man laundry. Nothing is more hysterical than skidded up undies hoisted on the forestay. Each of the stains and skids are unique so it looks like some nautical flags. Laundry days are Tuesday and Friday, ex-whites on Tuesday and colors on Friday. Last Halloween someone went and pumped out their holding tank into his cockpit while he was drunk on the streets. The drain holes clogged quickly so most of the effluent stayed where it should. What was funnier than Wilbur's cursing from the boat that night was the howls of laughter from all along the shoreline. It was a town event. It's also good to hear of another Owens owner here. The Aruba is a great boat I have looked at a few and if I were to live aboard that would be a consideration. It would be nice to have twin engines, docking would be easier. I told a few friends that "Wilbur" has quite a following on the internet, maybe they will drop in with a few stories of their own. It's late, I spent most of the day on the mainland so I'm off to bed. Just wanted to drop in and share a few words. Good night Wilbur! Ron Wilson |

[snipped] Ron Wilson There you go, Ron - you've gone and chucked rocks into Gollum's swamp and he's not happy. Keep it coming - this is highly amusing, particularly the attempts to reverse the pressure. tinyurl photos would be cool. Gollum is very upset when Gollum doesn't get what it wants. |

You should worry about more than vandalism. As for your sister, consider this. Cancer tends to run in families because there is genetic predisposition for it. I hope you're next, Wilson. You certainly deserve it. Keep smoking those Marlboro's. Yes, siree! Liar! Everybody knows I haven't worn underwear for about 20 years. Saved lots of money that way. A pair of shorts and a t-shirt is all that's needed in the Keys. Who does laundry on a sailboat anyway. There's a laudromat just up the road. Duh! Last Halloween someone went and pumped out their holding tank into his cockpit while he was drunk on the streets. The drain holes clogged quickly so most of the effluent stayed where it should. I told a few friends that "Wilbur" has quite a following on the internet, maybe they will drop in with a few stories of their own. It will be a pack of lies, as usual. And, **** Joe Butcher, hapless skipper of the erstwhile motor sailer, Red Cloud. Any boat he can afford to own can't be anything but a piece of ****. If he's been e-mailing you don't believe a word that idiot says. He's already abandoned and sunk one perfectly good boat. His Owens probably is doomed to the same fate. Poor Joe is no sailor. Who else? Probably that idiot Gaynze. He's probably trying to get information to netKKKop me again. And Katysails, she's another netKKKop and a skank hypocrite. It's late, I spent most of the day on the mainland so I'm off to bed. Just wanted to drop in and share a few words. Sleep tight, Wilson. And let's hope the next cancer treatment is successful and that you have a home to return to. All the best. Wilbur Hubbard |
