Default True North Sailboats

Wonder if anyone has any knowledge on True North 34 cutters. Any info would
be appreicated like builder, what to look out for when surveying, sailing
charactistics and any links that might be of use.

Thanks
Brian

Never heard of them, but I saw a picture gallery of one for sail for
$49K USD at

http://www.bajayachts.com/true-north-34/index.html

that had me drooling. It's six feet less than what I'm looking for,
but it looks...looks, mind you...bulletproof for bluewater and very
well maintained. Even the obviously well-composed pictures scored
several hits on my personal "desirable characteristics of offshore
yachts" check list, which by my own admission is somewhat conservative
and systems-intensive for the current crop of production yachts.

The deep, small cockpit, the high bridgedeck, the centrally located
electrical panel, the saloon compass, the handholds, the tiller, the
vane, the vast and logical stowage, all speak to me of Competant
Cruising.

Which means it's cramped for six having drinkies in the cockpit G

Having said that, maybe she sails like a pig, but I doubt it.

the boats were designed by the late Stan Huntingford who also designed the
famous Rafiki 37, the seamaid 45 ketch and the Royal? Passport 40.
Some of these boats were built in taiwan others made by independant yards
and home finished. They didn't spare the fiberglas when they built them
the have very thick arex cored hulls. As for the cockpit yup it is small
but we fit 11 people in it once for wine and cheese, got the pics to prove
it.
