While the text does not specifically say to install the strainer below the water line the diagrams, although fairly diagrammatic, surely tend to indicate that is the way to do it. I've never seen one installed any other way. Since that engine is worth a lot more than a strainer, I'd ditch the home made one and get the real thing while you are at it. |
