Not too far OT:
What are the other identities for Tohatsu outboards? "Matt Colie" wrote in message ... Jace, Things like this become available for two reasons, Yamaha is selling these out as private label (are you old enough to remember Gale) or Yamaha has licensed a other company to build from its designs. Gale was a blind line of OMC engines that were always ahead of the main production because Ole Evenrude used them as a consumer field test. You got the engine at a lower cost and they often came with features that were not yet available on the two OMC lines, but there was no promise it would be as reliable as they main label and OMC dealers would not do warranty work on them. Mariner was a line of Japanese built Mercury marine designs. They started out being some real problem engines, but they also were a whole lot cheaper than the same HP Mercury. Good luck at what ever you decide, just come back and tell us what you did do and how it worked out. Is this a reputable company and does any have any comments on the engines? http://sailoutboardsusa.com/_wsn/page3.html Thanks |
