Robert,
First Go to the West System Site www.westsystem.com and find 002-150 Vacuum Bagging Techniques Softcover-52 pages. A definitive guide to the principles and application of vacuum bagging techniques for laminating composite materials with epoxy. Complete instructions describe various techniques; materials and equipment. or 885 Vacuum Bagging Kit (I have one of these on my shelf because I bought it a few years ago and found out right away that I needed bigger pieces of material - make an offer if you are interested.) I don't know what you are planning to do, but the book is where to start. I've vacuum bagged two boats and also 3 rudders for a hovercraft. I use two shop vacs. I use black polyethylene plastic from Wal-Mart as the bag and as the peel ply. After glassing, you put a layer of plastic over your work. Then add towels, blankets, etc. Then tape up a second layer of plastic over the blankets and all with duct tape. Cut a little hole, and insert the vacuum hose. I put the vacuum hose into some sort of rigid tube that has a lot of holes in it before putting it into the bag. A 1 foot long length of 3" perforated drain hose works great. I cover that with a piece of cloth or towel. Then there's the "Little Sucker" that guys make from an old refrigerator condenser. Seems like a lot of work. The shop vacs do an adequate job. Ed. "Robert Haston" wrote in message link.net... I need to vacuum bag some parts, and am looking for a good web site, or other source.
