Jamestown Distributors, I found one there. Only a 12 footer, unlike the
25 ft ones I am accustomed to as a carpenter, but, hey, the boat is only
10 feet long, so it will do

I haven't see the new store, but loved the ambiance of the old. I grew
up working in an old time hardware store in NJ, and it reminded me of
that. Find anything you want, including help.

Yeah... I loved that place. IUt was REALLY nice to be able to walk downtown
(about 5 minutes total) and pick up anything you needed.

Me, too, except mine was in Chichester (England). Same kind of place from the
sound of it. All sorts of strange drawers full of arcane (and archaic) bits
and pieces which a few people still wanted. Should have bought more while I
was working there.

Seriously, I noticed a nice all-metric 8-meter long tape at Home Depot
in Redmond, Washington. I was so surprised I bought it without even
knowing what I would ever use it for.
