Last year my wife and I bought our first boat, a Catalina 250. We
love it, and it is just the right size for us in Colorado. Over the summer a problem developed between the cabin and the hatch. The hatch cover slides toward the bow to open. It slides on a thick vinyl (I guess) tape to protect the cabin's fiberglass. The tape has deteriorated and separated from the fiberglass, and I need to replace it. Can any one suggest where I might go to get the replacement tape? I have tried West Marine and other Internet boat supplies sites with no success. |

Yes, I sent them an email on the same day I posted this query. I
haven't received a reply. Jim Conlin wrote in message ... Have you tried the manufacturer, http://www.catalinayachts.com ? Bud,
You could try some ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) plastic tape that woodworkers use to make machinery slippery. Try Woodcraft Supply or Lee Valley Tools. It comes with adhesive. Lee Valley Tools sells a Slippery (Low Friction) tape that may be just
what you want. They do mail order and are very good to deal with. Here's a link to the item: http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.a...=1,11 0,43466 Dale Gloer Ford and Mary Ann Walton wrote: Bud, You could try some ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) plastic tape that woodworkers use to make machinery slippery.
