I have all the Gardner books previously mentioned. Often he exerts the
fact that old fashioned materials are no longer to be had. For example wide
pine boards for garboards. He recomends using marine plywood instead. I
would suggest getting all of his books. You will spend days pouring over
the designs. Often he relates information in one type of craft to another
such as changing the stem construction...etc. Dory's come in all sizes and
shapes..what did you have in mind?

Not to mention that dorys always leaked, often had cracked garboards and
cracked transoms. The good old days were not that great! They were a cheap
expedient; epoxy and plywood have made them better than they ever were.
