There have been several postings here recently about the near-silent Honda
genset. I have the opposite -- a generator powered by a Briggs & Stratton engine that can wake the dead even at idle. Does anyone have some suggestions for ways to (even slightly) reduce the N-O-I-S-E!!! level? Will a different muffler help? An acoustic-damping box? Or am I doomed to eBay it and buy a Honda? Alex |

Alex I added acoustic insulation to my genset box on the side of my RV and found that helped. Over on sci.engr.joining.welding NG on 3-1-06 there was a detailed discussion on how others have successfully added a car muffler. Thanks! /a |
