We have been asked to list a Morgan Out Islander 33 on our brokerage.
Problem is that the owner stripped boat interior and is only part way through restoration so it is not suitable for listing. Perhaps someone in this group is looking for a project? If so, we can put you in touch with the owner. The owner bought this boat with the idea of completely refitting for use as a liveaboard. As a result, he removed much of the interior as well as the engine, stove etc. He has done a lot of work, but there is still a lot to do. Some items are listed below: - paint interior of hull (owner has it prepared for painting) - finish and paint interior woodwork plus re-install trim - reinstall stove, plumbing, lighting, electrical panels etc. - reinstall engine (owner would do this if need be) - strip and repaint mast - etc?? Much of the hardware to complete is available. The engine is on a test stand and can be run. This is without question a project boat. Depending on how well it is finished, it could be worth say US$30-$40k (C$45-$60,000). The boat could be put into condition to be sailed in a few months. If there is anyone that is interested, there are some details at www.windjammersails.com and we can email more pictures of the interior as it is now. Graham |

Lets be specific please. This is a 1974, almost thirty years old. I
forgot the trailer so add $2k. I'll up Brian's offer to $6,000. Graham, What do you mean that Canadian is not worth as much. These French Canadian guys that come down here tell me that Canadian is worth more now. I've been giving them $1.10 American. Ron |

What they've been showing you is probably something called "Canadian Tire money", coupons redemable at a national retail chain in Canada. Passing off Canadian Tire money as Canadian currency is a favourite passtime of Canadans travelling abroad. Sort of like Americans passing of Confederate money as US currency up here. The Canadian dollar is currently worth about 72 cents US. US dollar is therefore worth 100/72 or $1.39 Canadian. You give them 72 cents. They give you $1.39. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ William R Watt National Capital FreeNet Ottawa's free community network homepage: www.ncf.ca/~ag384/top.htm warning: non-freenet email must have "notspam" in subject or it's returned |
