To those that difficulties in reading the text: "The traditional yachts of Haukilahti boatyard, Colin Archer 30 and 40, designed by Christian Lydman.... I have no idea how close these fiberglass designs are to original Colin Archer boats. I've gotten the impression that most boats which imitate the Colin Archer rescue cutters do not follow through with many of Colin Archer's most functional features. For example, the sterns of the Westsail series and also of the "Colin Archer 30 & 40" don't have anywhere near the flare (ie reserve bouyancy) of the originals. Another point often lost by modern imitators is that Colin Archer's boats were built as lightly & strongly as possible with the technology of the day. They were not built extra-heavy on purpose.
