Default G4/HT Chain

Is there any way short of destructive testing to tell the difference
between 3/8 G4/HT chain and standard chain?

3/8" G4 chain has "G4" stamped on each link and is .406" thick, has an
inside diameter of 1.22" and inside width of .57".

Neutron Activation Spectrometry
precision densitometry
but favorite...
arc or spark emission spectrometry e.g. "metallometer"
