Obama's spending
http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/09/...a/09donate.php
Since Obama has no prior executive experience one can only look to his campaign. 1. Out raised McCain by several fold. 2. Outspent both Clinton and McCain by several fold. Results: He can't close the sale. In fact, he's trailing McCain in the polls and falling further behind. Now's it looks like his judgment about the surge of funds may be a bit off. Now look at his proposed policies: Big, big spending. Thousand dollar handouts to each American, billions upon billions to Africa, billions for "alternative energy", billions for green jobs, billions, billions and billions more. All his hopes and plans are contingent on the money well overflowing. What happens when the well runs dry? Will his goals be accomplished? |

Approximately 40% pay no individual income taxes at all. The top 10% in income pay about 70% of all individual income taxes collected. The top 5% in income pay about 60%. And, these numbers are from where? Of course one thing we learned with the prescription drug plan is that if intend to do handouts you have to throw some money in the direction of the folks who pay 30% of the taxes in order to get it passed. So O's plan is to take a bunch of money from the folks who pay the 60%, throw some money at the folks who pay 30%, and the rest at the folks who pay 0, and to call all the money that's thrown "tax cuts." This makes no sense. What are you trying to tell us? Notice how the propaganda piece you cite doesn't tell what those supposed "tax cuts" for the bottom 40% consist of? See that 20% number for people making less than $19,000? See that 20% number for people making between $19,000 and $38,000? Those are virtually universally gonna be people who pay no income tax. How do you cut the taxes of people who don't pay tax? You hand them money and call it a "refundable tax credit." Handing out money to people who pay no income tax isn't a tax cut. It's welfare. Now you undoubtedly believe it's a good idea to make welfare payments to those folks, and no doubt many would agree. But let's not try to pull the wool over people's eyes by calling the payments tax cuts. BTW, McCain got himself in a difficult position to make this point, because his own tax program also calls for "refundable tax credits"--i.e. welfare payments. But on a smaller scale. Still waiting for your answer...... -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com |
