![]() So...while the rest of you, or most of you stayed home, we went sailing again! Today was beyond perfect. Execution Rocks station reported steady 12, gusting to 16 or so....cool breeze and fairly flat water...really nice! We decided to get to the boat early so Suzanne and Thomas could spend some time swimming.... http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...s35s5/Lab4.jpg We set out for our daysail and winds were closer to 15, gusting to 20, at least for a brief while. I raised the main and we had a great sail. Rarely have I seen so many boats sailing! A few people remarked that it was the best sailing weather all summer. We saw a lot of interesting boats.... http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...s35s5/Lab2.jpg With the genoa out things picked up and Suzanne stayed on the helm for a while, really enjoying it, doing pretty fast tacks again and again....a good day to play with the boat. Ya gotta love a blonde who loves to sail and would never want a trawler or a Cat.... http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...s35s5/Lab3.jpg There were a lot of fast boats out, but this smallish vessel passed everything. Even the jet in the upper left quickly fell behind!.... http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...s35s5/Lab1.jpg 3 days of sailing. We decided to sleep aboard tomorrow instead of tonight. Then no sailing again until Wednesday and Friday. Again, this is about the best weather we've seen on the LIS. Just about every day has been a winner for us! Cheers! RB 35s5 NY |
